For creators

Why Rights & Licensing?

Your music does not have to be for sale.

AI Music Chart was created first and foremost as a place for creators to share music, find listeners and compete in a listener-led chart. Rights & Licensing is entirely optional.

Some creators may want their songs to lead to something more — perhaps another artist recording the song, a film or TV placement, a licensing opportunity, or a conversation with a producer, publisher or label.

For those creators, Rights & Licensing provides a way to say: “I’m open to hearing opportunities.”

If that isn’t what you want, you do nothing. Your song remains part of AI Music Chart exactly as before.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL

Listing a song as Rights Available does not transfer ownership, sell your song, grant anybody a licence or commit you to accepting an offer. It simply tells interested parties that you are willing to receive enquiries. You choose which opportunities you are open to, and you can change your choices or withdraw your song from Rights & Licensing at any time.

Another artist recording the song
Film, TV, advertising or other sync opportunities
Licensing the existing recording or master
Non-exclusive licensing
Exclusive licensing discussions
Acquisition or assignment discussions

You don’t have to select everything.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

AI-assisted music is producing many songs that may never otherwise reach artists, producers, publishers or media. If listeners discover a song they love, we believe it should have the opportunity to travel further.

AI Music Chart identifies music through genuine listener behaviour. Rights & Licensing provides a separate route for creators who want commercial opportunities.

WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE IS INTERESTED?

  1. They send an enquiry through AI Music Chart.
  2. Your private email is not shown publicly.
  3. No licence or sale happens automatically.
  4. You decide whether you want to continue the conversation.

In Phase 1, AI Music Chart is the introduction point, not the contracting party.

A WORD ABOUT RIGHTS

AI-generated and AI-assisted music can have complicated rights depending on the platform, subscription or tier, creation date, collaborators, samples, voices and jurisdiction. That is why creators complete a Rights Declaration before a song gets the RIGHTS AVAILABLE badge.

The badge means the creator has completed the declaration and chosen to receive enquiries. It does not mean AI Music Chart has certified copyright ownership.

Just here to share music and enter the chart? That’s absolutely fine — you don’t need to do anything.
