The Lost Past

Idea of the song: The starting point was a deeply sad experience: watching my mother suffer from dementia. Bit by bit, she began to lose the things that had once defined her. It started with names, small slips that seemed harmless at first. But soon the forgetting spread to everyday words, familiar concepts, pieces of her identity. It was heartbreaking to witness how, little by little, more of her faded away.
